On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi and 114the Birth anniversary of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, various programs were organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. The Swachhta hi Seva campaign running for the past 15 days also concluded on Tuesday. On this occasion, cleanliness work was carried out at prominent places of all the 91 wards of the city.
BJP state president Madan Lal Saini, National Organisation Secretary V Satish, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi and Mayor Ashok Lahoti offered garlands o Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Gandhi Circle. BJP leaders also paid tribute to former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Jaipur city unit of BJP had started a special cleanliness campaign on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, which concluded on Gandhi Jayanti. BJP’s city unit had conducted a one-day mass cleanliness campaign on September 23 under the Swachhta hi Seva campaign. On the conclusion of the campaign, cleanliness work was done by city BJP functionaries and councillors in all the 91 wards of the city. During this, cleanliness was done in hospitals, religious places, cremation grounds and public places. BJP legislators, minister and other senior leaders joined the campaign. BJP state organisational general secretary Chandra Shekhar also took part in cleanliness work at Lal Mandir of Khatipura area in ward 14. Chandra Shekhar mopped the road with party workers.
BJP city president Sanjay Jain told that the cleanliness campaign was started by BJP across the country from the birthday of prime minister Narendra Modi on September 17.
