Taimur Nagar Murder case: They saw father being shot dead, can't get over it

Traumatised by their father's death, kids could barely speak for minutes before breaking down. Both the children are an eyewitness of their father's murder, who was allegedly shot dead by a drug peddler in southeast Delhi's Taimur Nagar on Sunday night.

The family members of the deceased are keeping a close eye on the kids. The family and locals live in fear. Both the assailants are still not identified. Acting on the allegations made by the locals of inaction, a station house officer was sent to district lines and three of his subordinates were suspended.

The entire incident was recorded in a CCTV footage where two men were seen walking out of the cluster area carrying guns in their hands. When the deceased identified as Rupesh Besoya, who was playing cricket with his kids approached the two men, one of the two shot him at point blank range in front of the kids.

According to the family members of the deceased, the two children aged 12 and 8 have lost their senses after seeing their father getting murdered.

"The kids have lost their sense. We are trying to keep them busy but within minutes after an interaction that they break down and ask us about their father. They are asking us about 'where the father is, is he not going to come back ever?'. We have called our relative's children to keep them busy," said Umesh Besoya, the deceased's brother.

He further said that the deceased's wife has been inconsolable since his death and they are keeping a tab on her health. They are going to carry out a candle march on Wednesday and are contacting 360 khap of their community from across Delhi-NCR to organise a maha panchayat on October 6.

"It has been more than 48 hours but the cops have failed to find a clue. We want the investigation to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The residents also want the Bangladeshi migrants to be removed from the area as they indulge in drug peddling," said Umesh.
